I had the opportunity to work with Nathan as a member of the Student Code of Conduct Review Committee, which was tasked with proposing revisions to the Code of Student Conduct. While serving under Nathan for five months, I witnessed his work ethic, charisma, indefatigable energy, leadership, and devotion to Northeastern students up-close. Nathan assembled a committee of diverse voices, led us through lively discussions, and ultimately produced a strong proposal. Throughout this process, Nathan kept us motivated and always prioritized what was best for students. He also built key relationships with OSCCR and other university offices to ensure that the committee's work would be taken seriously by the administration.
Nathan makes me proud to be a Husky. He's a true leader. He knows how to deliver concrete results for Northeastern students, and I know he's the best choice for Student Body President. I hope you'll join me in proudly voting for yourNortheastern.

Nathan embodies everything that a student government leader should be. Having worked on his committee that revised the Northeastern Student Code of Conduct, I watched him interact with many individuals spanning a diverse set of student groups. He not only knows how to make people feel like they are heard, but also does everything in his ability to make sure that the resolutions are in the best interests of the student body and that they satisfy the concerns voiced by every individual. From the first day that I started working with him, it became evident that he has a lot of school pride and consequently, works diligently to ensure that the university experience is up to the highest possible standard for all students.
Even if someone’s opinion contradicted the rest of the committee’s or his own, Nathan always treated it as a valid concern with the utmost level of respect. He is always inclined to have a constructive discussion to ensure that each issue is addressed in an informed matter, while always maintaining his integrity. I know that with Nathan as our SGA president, our student government could never be more approachable, more dependable, or more concerned with making Northeastern a dynamic community of socially responsible individuals who are proud to be a part of it.

I had the privilege of working with Nathan on the Northeastern Homecoming Committee in 2017. Throughout the few months we worked together, I learned about how passionate Nathan is about Northeastern and how dedicated he is to giving back to the community. Nathan is full of great ideas and played a vital role in ensuring the Homecoming experience was a success, and that all students would be able to enjoy the week of festivities. He was in charge of planning a few of the week's events, but also helped out with the overall picture, such as theme, logo, and other logistics. During meetings, he was a great listener and made sure everyone's voices were heard and no one's ideas were left out.
Not only is he hardworking and motivated to provide the best experience to students, but he also is one of the most energetic and bubbly people I've ever met! Having someone like Nathan in office would be so amazing because I know he would do a great job due to his passion for students, energy towards positive change, and awesome leadership abilities balanced with great listening skills. For these reasons, I believe Nathan is not only qualified to be our next president, but he is the best candidate to create change and continue looking out for the best interests of the students at Northeastern.

Over the course of this year I have worked closely with Nathan on his Student Affairs Committee as well as the Student Code of Conduct Review Committee. As a freshman this fall, I was nervous to join the Student Government Association, but my nerves quickly subsided after my first Student Affairs meeting. Nathan is friendly, open-minded, and encouraging and he immediately made it clear that his committee would be working on issues that we and the student body as a whole cared about. With his help, I've worked on improving the Husky to Husky peer mental health education program on campus and I could never have accomplished any of the work I’ve been doing without his encouragement and resources.
I’ve also seen him advocate on the student’s behalf during Code of Conduct Revision meetings. When the administration pushed back on changes he knew were important to the student body, Nathan held his ground and fought for the changes the student body deserved. Nathan may be one of the most involved people on campus, between being an RA, a member of Husky to Husky, VP of Student Affairs, leading the Code of Conduct Review, along with so much more. There is never a time I see him without a smile on his face and I am lucky to call him a friend. Nathan has a strong relationship with students and faculty alike and there is no one else I would trust more with the role of Student Body President.

Since meeting Nathan last year, I have had the opportunity to work with him through ResLife, SGA, and a Dialogue. In each of my interactions with him and through working together, Nathan demonstrated his commitment to the individuals he worked with by contributing meaningful discussion and effort to group work. I believe that as Student Body President, Nathan would be equally as committed to his role and to Northeastern students, just as he was to group members on Dialogue and on SGA committees, and just as he has been and continues to be to his residents.

Dylan is a hardworking, sociable, and integral part of the team at the Nutrition, Exercise, and Physiology lab at Tufts University. He works efficiently and with purpose, completing trainings in a mere week that typically involve 2-3 weeks for a newcomer in the lab. He was able to grasp concepts quickly, and thus began independently working early on.
His patience, humility, and understanding for others’ unique capabilities were clear in his ability to train new interns in the procedures of the lab. He knows how to strategically intervene but also recognizes when to sit back and let the trainee use their own unique method and understanding to find their way. He is always quick to lend a helping hand, taking initiative every moment he can. Dylan brings a bright light to the lab that makes the staff and participants look forward to working with him each and everyday.

I had the incredible luck of meeting Dylan this past summer on a Dialogue to Ghana studying health systems and culture globally. Dylan is one of those people who just lights up a room. He is hilarious and charismatic - the kind of guy who is everyone’s friend. He’s well-spoken, intelligent, and innovative. He is courageous and passionate, and especially mindful of advocating for others. Dylan has the biggest heart, and is always putting others first. When he has a goal, nothing can stop him. I am so proud to call myself Dylan’s friend, and know that he will be an exceptional Vice President.

I first met Dylan on a Dialogue of Civilizations to Ghana. The fact that he made the decision to spend his freshman year Summer learning about healthcare systems in Africa immediately impressed me. However, it wasn’t until I really go to know Dylan until I realized just how impressive he really is. I watched him confidently handle not only himself in an entirely new environment far outside of his comfort zone, but also be a true leader and companion to everyone else on the trip. Dylan always went out of his way to make sure that everyone was comfortable with some of the more distressing events of our trip, and provided the group with a space for much needed dialogue. Dylan served as a beacon of light and positivity throughout an emotionally trying four weeks. He demonstrated compassion and empathy to every single Ghanaian we came across, as well as to all of the students and faculty of Dialogue. His pride, love, and admiration of Northeastern is evident in all of his actions and is unmatched by anyone I have come across in my four years here.

Northeastern is all about community and creating a collective student body. No-one embodies this ideal and brings people together like Dylan Balcom. Dylan is the friendliest and most accepting person I have met here at school. As a freshman I have met few upperclassmen like Dylan. One area where Dylan’s personality shines is RSA or the Resident Student Association. I joined RSA to try and get more involved on campus. At my first meeting Dylan immediately reach out to me and welcomed me into the RSA community. He approached me in a manner that screamed inclusivity. His welcome wasn’t just a fake gratuity, but a genuine outreach of kindness. Dylan made me feel welcomed to RSA and to the community of Northeastern as a whole.

Dylan is one of the most passionate, creative, and driven people I have had the pleasure of meeting at Northeastern. He has an uncanny ability to create the best out of any situation and brings light to issues often overlooked. He amazes me with his dedication to every project that he is involved in and his ability to bring people together and work toward a common goal. He is a pillar for the community, giving students, professors, and even the administration someone to look to for creative solutions to issues facing the university today.
